Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Clew Walks Ltd ("Clew Walks", "we", "us") collects when you use the Clew Walks app, why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain. Clew Walks Ltd is the data controller — a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17329691, registered office 4th Floor Office, 205 Regent Street, London W1B 4HB, United Kingdom), registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration reference ZC194828.

What we collect

• Account — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create and identify your account.
• Location — while you use the app, with your permission, we use your device location to start a walk from where you are and to suggest nearby places. We do not track your location in the background.
• Your walks — the inputs you choose (start point, duration, interests), the walks we generate for you, and your history, ratings and favourites.
• Purchases — if you buy walk credits, the purchase is processed by Apple. We receive confirmation that a valid purchase was made; we never see or store your card details.
• Basic technical data — limited diagnostic information needed to run the service reliably.

How we use it

• To design and narrate your walking tours and play their audio.
• To save your walks and history so you can return to them.
• To operate, secure and improve the service.

Who processes it for us

We use trusted third-party providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us, under contract. They fall into these categories:

• Cloud hosting and database — running the app and storing your account, walks and audio.
• AI and voice generation — producing the narration and its audio from your walk inputs.
• Maps, place search and walking directions.
• Sign-in — Apple and Google, when you choose to sign in with them.
• Payments — Apple processes any purchase you make; we never see or store your card details.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EU (for example, in the United States), so your information may be processed there under appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account), which removes your account and associated data from our systems.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK/EU data protection law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Children

Clew Walks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
